Playing now and every day on Australian Country Radio the new song from Catherine Britt taken from the album "Boneshaker" and featuring Steve Earle.
The song is called 'You and Me Against the World"
Catherine tells Australian Country Radio, "I wrote this song as a love song for my fiancé James, When I got the idea to feature Steve Earle on the album I was trying to think which song I could record with him and I needed to write one when I thought about this song. I sent it to him wondering what he would think of singing a ballad love song duet with me, but to my surprise he loved it and joined me on the track. James is VERY happy that Steve Earle sings his love song!”
In 2015, at the age of 30 and just two weeks after the launch of Boneshaker, Catherine was diagnosed with stage 2A Breast Cancer.
A year of massive personal career highs and accolades marred only by the often crippling effects of the treatment forced her to reduce her touring and appearances due to required rest.
Now she is ready to emerge and with the help of industry friends confidently say, F U Cancer!

Playing now and every day on Australian Country Radio the new song from Shane Nicholson called "Weight Of the World"
"Weight Of The World" addresses Shane’s long running battle with depression.
Shane tells Australian Country radio, “many of these songs are about self-discovery and new horizons,’’ he says. “And also how that’s not always great, it can also sometimes be difficult. You can veer down a few wrong paths. It can take time to adjust. Writers will always find turmoil to write about even if there isn’t any, but the writing for this record certainly came from an authentic place, and was very cathartic.’’

This is the first song to radio from Jo’s third album Albany and it finds her celebrating one of the most universal of themes. Written for a friend who asked Jo to sing at her wedding, it’s an honest appraisal in song of a universal topic.....love!
Jo explains to Australian Country Radio, “When asked to sing at the wedding, I was daunted by the fact I had no suitable love songs in my repertoire. I’m allergic to love songs which are usually full of overused cliches. I realised that if I was going to write a love song, it had to be a good one. Celebratory sure, but not soppy. Because it’s uptempo and happy, it was one of the harder songs for me to write but people keep telling me it’s stuck in their head so I must have got something right.”

Now playing on Australian Country Radio on Tunein, Streema, on Facebook. (on the Listen Live tab above on your desktop) or on our website, the new song from Ruby Boots called "Middle Of Nowhere".
Australian Country Radio has been playing this track since Ruby's album "Solitude" was released last year. Ruby has released the song now as a refocused radio single and tells Australian Country Radio about a road trip with Vikki Thom from The Waifs.
"“I was tired, jetlagged, emotionally drained, and scared out of my wits - the latter mainly because I had no idea what I was walking into. I knew Vikki lived on an isolated farm in Utah somewhere, and that we were setting out to write a few songs, and that's where my knowledge ended. I hadn’t even bothered to find out an address and was nearly refused entry into the country at customs! After meeting my new, tiny-framed yet big-voiced friend Vikki in Salt Lake City, we drove to the farm - a drive that proved to be highly entertaining. In the final leg I succumbed to my jetlag daze and passed out, later waking up in the total darkness of the driveway on a very isolated property, about a twenty minute drive to the nearest sign of civilization (a lonely petrol pump)”
"Welcome to the middle of nowhere" Vikki said.

Now playing on Australian Country Radio on Tunein or on our website, the new song from James Blundell called "Anzac Cottage"
James tells Australian Country Radio this interesting yarn attached to this historic building and why he wrote the song.
ANZAC Cottage was built in one day on February 12, 1916 by the community of Mount Hawthorn as a home for John Porter - a returned wounded soldier - and his family and as a memorial for those who lost their lives in the tragic Gallipoli landing.
The ambitious project was initiated by the Mount Hawthorn Progress Association and supported eagerly and enthusiastically by the community with donations and contributions made to ensure that the cottage that was to be built would be a suitable memorial for the Gallipoli veterans.
One hundred years later, the cottage still stands and commands respect from all who visit it.
I am proud to have been asked by my friends at Anzac Cottage to write this special song to celebrate the centenary of this magnificent building.

Dan, who was with me, had to scramble to light a fire and keep it burning so I could see what I was writing down! Dean Perrett "Dusty Sky"Now playing on Australian Country Radio on Tunein or on our website, the title track from the just released album "Dusty Sky" by Dean Perrett.
Dean told Kim Honan of ABC Rural about recording this Australian Bush Ballad album in Nashville,"Apart from just really liking Tennessee and the environment here, I really like the music scene here, the musicians and the recording studio here," Perrett said. "I know that sounds crazy for someone that sings all Australiana and bush ballads. I mean I could easily make a really good record with some great players back home in Australia, but I think I've always appreciated and loved all forms of music, and I like the freshness that the studios here and players bring to my music. "I think that's a good thing for an artist to keep freshening themselves, so I've just been enjoying myself by doing that. "I'm still able to come here and take a piece of Australia here to Nashville to these musicians here too, and that's one I find here is that they're so interested in the stories, and when we cut tracks in the studio I'll explain to them exactly what the track's about so they get a feel for it.
